We are looking forward to the 32nd season of Spokane Regional AAU Basketball! As we prepare for another wonderful basketball season, we want to share with you some important information.
We realize that with the Covid-19 pandemic, we are moving forward cautiously optimistic. Our league and tournaments are dependent upon the opening of the facilities utilized for our events. We are also under the continued guidance of the Spokane Regional Health District as well as any mandates that are provided from the office of the Governor. The health, wellness, and safety of our young athletes, parents, and those in our community has been and will continue to be our priority.
With that being said, we will open league registration on August 18, 2021. We have revamped our refund policy contingent upon the circumstances when and if they arise. We will provide refunds based on modifications or cancellations.
Our goals remain the same: to create basketball experiences that celebrate athleticism, fair play, good sportsmanship, and community involvement. Spokane Regional AAU develops, fosters, and regulates its programs through specific rules and regulations. We will also continue to provide the highest level of competition in the region and promote the value of playing ‘real’ basketball!
That having been said, we are looking forward to the upcoming season!
We are planning to provide the following for the 2021-2022 basketball season!
- 3rd Grade Division – We are providing a 3rd-grade division for both boys and girls! We are excited and are looking forward to providing a well-organized program that will help them develop their individual basketball skills while playing ‘real’ basketball. With the inclusion of the 3rd grade, we will be offering a basketball program for young athletes in our area from grade 3 through grade 8.
- 2 Skill Divisions – We’ll continue to provide two skill level divisions – Division I and Division II.
- Division I – a perfect fit for the seasoned player who loves the game, has played an extensive amount of organized basketball, and wants to use his or her skills to meet any challenge.
- Division II – an ideal fit for the player who is on a journey to enhance his or her basketball skills and reinforce their love of the game.
Which division will you choose to play in, the choice will be left up to the Coach! However, based on the number of teams registered for each grade, and each division, we reserve the right to determine the appropriate division.
- 12 Game Season – The length of our League Season will continue to include 12 games however we are changing to a 10-week schedule.
- Facebook Group – For coaches looking for additional player(s) to complete their team rosters, you may use our Facebook page. Type in on top Facebook search bar: Spokane AAU Free Agent Forum, you will then be asked to be accepted into the group. From that point on teams, players and coaches can all communicate together.
