It is no secret that our collective court vision was certainly tested in 2020. We had to be on our “A” game, even though we were not allowed to play OUR game. However, with all of you as teammates and basketball in our hearts, our inspiration was always at our virtual fingertips. For that, we will always be grateful. For that, we will always compete on your behalf to execute the Best Basketball Weekend on Earth.
Like all of you, we approach each season and each individual game plan with winning in mind. There is no other option. We also know that winning habits happen when no one is watching, so your Hoopfest staff has been hard at work. We have been asking questions, evaluating information, gaining support, working with authorities, and strategizing on the Hoopfest game plan that will give us the greatest chance of winning in 2021.
All that work has led us to the decision to make a one year move from the last weekend in June (traditional Hoopfest dates) to September 11th and 12th, 2021. This move provides us the longest timeline to ensure that Hoopfest 2021 will not only be epic but also be safe for us to enjoy (unintended benefit, it also gives us “more mature” hoop heads a little more time to dust of the kicks and loosen up the knees! Quarantine 15, anyone?)
The Xs and Os:
- Hoopfest 2021 in Hooptown USA – September 11th and 12th, 2021
- Volunteer Registration opens April 19th, 2021
- Team Registration opens June 1st, 2021
- Refund policy: If our tournament is canceled due to COVID-19, we will issue refunds. However, if we are able to play we will revert back to our historical no refund policy.
We realize this information will create a list of questions. Some of the questions, we will have answers for, but some will only be answered over time. For now, clear your calendar on September 11th and 12th and use a sharpie to write in Hoopfest. Then send out that email, text, DM, or Snap to the squad and tell them to do the same. Shoot, put a dance on Tik Tok, let’s get hyped for Hoopfest 2021!
