In Honor of National Volunteer Month

In Honor of National Volunteer Month

The month of April is dedicated to thanking those volunteers who work tirelessly who make sure organizations, like Spokane Hoopfest Association, run as seamlessly as they do. Here at the headquarters of the World’s Biggest 3on3 Tournament we want to send all of our appreciation out to all those who help us in all of our programs within the community, on the streets and on the courts.

It’s no secret that the Best Basketball Weekend on Earth is the major event it is because of our 3,000 plus volunteers. These superstars dedicate their time before, during and after the last weekend in June to make sure that the magic is alive and well before that first match up.

Duties of our General Volunteers range from handing out beverages, taping courts and running score clocks. Those Court Monitors you see in the middle of the 3on3 heat are also volunteers. Court Monitors ensure that all Hoopfesters are safe and playing by the rules.

“Our volunteers are key in running Hoopfest. Not only do they provide their time and talents, but also their enthusiasm. They make our events one of the best in the country. Over the 18+ years I have been working for Hoopfest I have seen and worked with a lot of stellar volunteers and have been lucky that they have given of themselves year after year to showcase Hoopfest to be the best it can be,” says office administrator Keli Riley.

It’s not too late for you to be an MVP this tournament weekend … our General Volunteer and Court Monitor registrations are still open!

Thank you to all of our volunteers for continuing to help Spokane Hoopfest Association function. Start training for another year of the Best Basketball Weekend on Earth, September 11-12, it’ll be here before you know it
