Race #Bloomsday with us
Before the Best Basketball Weekend on Earth rolls around in June, we’re lacing up our running shoes for the 2019 Lilac Bloomsday Run. Bloomsday is one of the largest road races in the world, with well over 40,000 runners every year. Spokane Hoops Association is beyond excited to race in the Bloomsday Corporate Cup this year, where local organizations compete against each other in teams of three to five for the top race time.
Both the Spokane Hoops Association and Bloomsday bring the community together on a massive scale, with our events being some of the largest of their kind in the world. We are proud to serve the greater Spokane area as nonprofit organizations by providing such robust and positive events.
The 2019 Bloomsday run is a special one because it will be the last for Bloomsday founder and current Race Director, Don Kardong. Kardong was able to share the importance of physical fitness with the Spokane community through his foundation of this road run.
“Don Kardong is the epitome of class! As the visionary behind one of our region’s showcase events and nation’s premier races, Spokane can count itself fortunate that Don shared his time and talent with all of us,” said Spokane Hoops Association’s Executive Director, Matt Santangelo.

Our Spokane Hoops Association team is looking forward to finishing strong in the Bloomsday Corporate Cup, but we may have dropped the ball when it came to the Team Name Contest…our #Bloomsday name is Hoopfest. Now that it’s time to gear up for the Best Basketball Weekend on Earth, we hope you’ve been brainstorming better team names than ours!
