Dan Fitzgerald, a friend to all of us, and the founder of our AAU clinics in 1998, passed away on January 19, 2010. His positive impact on our community is significant. We miss you Fitz.

Fitz was the former Head Coach of the Gonzaga University Bulldogs and had long been considered one of the region’s premier teachers of basketball. He was one of the winningest coaches in Gonzaga history and was the first coach to take the Zags to the NCAA Division 1 tournament.

“Fitz was one of the best teachers of the game.”
-Ray Giacoletti, Drake University, Head Coach

eastern washington elite

Eastern Washington Elite was founded in 1998 and is the longest-running and most successful program in the Inland Northwest. It’s the only local grassroots program slated to play in the Under Armour Rise circuit in 2022.  EWE has helped 57 players earn Division 1 scholarships to date.

All EWE coaches have high school or college coaching experience. All player costs go toward players’ expenses, tournaments and skill development – not toward coaching salaries.

Eastern Washington Elite is affiliated with the Spokane Hoopfest Association, the organization that runs the largest 3-on-3 tournament on Earth and one of the nation’s largest youth AAU leagues.

U15-U17 teams will travel to Kansas City and Atlanta during the 2022 NCAA recruiting periods and other to-be-determined sites throughout Spring and Summer 2022. All teams will play a minimum of 6 tournaments around the Northwest or nationally. Players will have the opportunity to play in front of more colleges than any other local program.
